What you'll do

  • Provide technical and business support to resolve application issues and ensure system stability.
  • Monitor systems daily, perform risk reconciliations, and manage regional handovers for production environments.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and identify ways to maximize application potential.
  • Assess the risk of production issues and escalate them to management in a timely manner.
  • Define scope for complex enhancements and develop contingency plans to ensure system availability.
  • Partner with development teams to prioritize bug fixes and coordinate application releases.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and coach for junior analysts and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor and tune Hadoop/Big Data cluster performance, including HDFS, Hive, and Spark components.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Application Support.
  • 5-8 years of experience in an Application Support role.
  • 6-8 years of application production support experience in the financial industry.
  • 4-6 years of Linux experience.
  • Experience with Hadoop/Big Data platforms and components like HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, YARN, Sentry, Oozie, and Kafka.
  • Good SQL experience in any RDBMS.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Unix shell scripting, Python, or Perl (preferred).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as ITRS Active Console or schedulers like Autosys/CONTROL-M (preferred).
