Senior Analyst, Applications Support - Assistant Vice President

What you'll do

• Maintain and support application systems to ensure stability, quality, and functionality against service level expectations.
• Perform start-of-day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handovers for production environments.
• Conduct same-day risk reconciliations and assess the impact of production issues for timely escalation.
• Develop and maintain technical support documentation and application contingency plans.
• Participate in application releases, including development, testing, and production deployment phases.
• Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues while communicating impacts to relevant stakeholders.
• Act as a subject matter expert and coach to new or lower-level analysts.
• Perform performance tuning and capacity planning for Hadoop/Big Data clusters.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience in Application Support.
• 5-8 years of experience in an Application Support role.
• 6-8 years of strong Application production support experience in the financial industry.
• Experience installing, configuring, or supporting business applications.
• Experience using call/ticketing software and problem management tools.
• Experience with Linux (4-6 years) and good SQL experience in any RDBMS.
• Working knowledge of Cloudera distribution components like HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, YARN, Sentry, Oozie, and Kafka.
• Experience with programming languages including UNIX shell scripting, Python, or PERL (preferred); experience with some programming languages and willingness to learn (required).
• Experience with Autosys, CONTROL-M, or other schedulers (preferred).
• Knowledge or working experience of ITRS Active Console or other monitoring tools (preferred).
