Application Support Engineer, Mid Level

What you'll do

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents for critical business applications and enterprise services.
• Investigate application performance issues, batch processing failures, and middleware integration problems.
• Analyze system logs, traces, and metrics to identify root causes and drive long-term reliability improvements.
• Define technical specifications and requirements to support scalable and sustainable application development.
• Follow Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices for requirements gathering, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Identify and manage risks associated with business activities in accordance with compliance standards.
• Coordinate with technical teams and external vendors to restore services during high-severity incidents.
• Administer operational workflows and develop knowledge-management standards using platforms like ServiceNow and Jira.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
• Advanced understanding of languages such as Java, Swift, JavaScript, C++, SQL, or Python.
• Advanced understanding of Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, and z/OS.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Advanced working knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker containers, and microservice-based architectures.
• Advanced experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, and knowledge of Incident, Problem, Change, Event, and Knowledge Management practices.
• 4+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, or production environments (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in an Enterprise Availability Command Center, Production Operations, or Site Reliability Engineering environment (preferred).
