Application Support Engineer

What you'll do

• Own complex production issues from initial triage through final resolution and client communication.
• Participate in major incident responses by providing impact analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Monitor system performance and availability to resolve issues before they impact clients.
• Use AI tooling to accelerate log analysis, data extraction, and issue reproduction.
• Build and maintain automations and reusable AI assets for other engineers to use.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement fixes and improvements to the application.
• Create and maintain runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and internal knowledge base articles.
• Manage production access and support configuration and change management activities.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in application support, preferably in a financial services or trading environment (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing role.
• Strong foundational knowledge of networking, operating systems (Linux and Windows), and databases (MSSQL and/or NoSQL).
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (MSSQL, MongoDB, Postgres) and strong scripting abilities in Python and PowerShell.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, Google Cloud Platform, and microservices architecture.
• Practical skill with AI coding assistants and the ability to iterate on prompts and recognize incorrect outputs.
• Ability to read and modify application code in a compiled language (preferred).
