Application Support Engineer

What you'll do

• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex production issues from triage through resolution and client communication.
• Participate in major incident response by providing impact analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Monitor system performance and availability to resolve issues before they impact clients.
• Manage production access, support configuration, and change management activities.
• Utilize AI tooling and LLMs to accelerate log analysis, data extraction, and issue reproduction.
• Build and maintain automations and reusable AI assets for the engineering team.
• Create and maintain runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement technical fixes and system improvements.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in application support, preferably in a financial services or trading environment (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing role.
• Strong foundational knowledge of networking, operating systems (Linux and Windows), and databases (MSSQL and/or NoSQL).
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants or LLM-based tooling in a professional setting.
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, Python, and PowerShell scripting.
• Ability to read and modify application code in a compiled language (preferred).
• Experience with observability and ticketing platforms like Datadog, Jira, Zendesk, Confluence, and PagerDuty (plus); familiarity with trading systems and financial markets (plus).
