The Application Development Senior Advisor joins the production support team to ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical applications. This role involves managing support operations, leading incident resolution for high-severity issues, and mentoring support engineers. Key responsibilities include conducting daily health checks, monitoring CloudWatch dashboards, triaging AWS Batch jobs, and coordinating with engineering and DevOps teams within an Agile framework. The candidate will utilize AWS Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Dynatrace, and Splunk to manage distributed event-driven systems. Technical skills required include Python, FastAPI, Flask, DynamoDB, and OpenSearch. The role addresses complex production support challenges within the healthcare domain, specifically involving HIPAA Transactions, Edifecs Systems, and large-scale batch processes, while driving improvements in observability and automating repetitive support tasks.
Lead and coordinate daily production support operations to ensure high availability of mission-critical applications.
Serve as the primary escalation point for high-severity (P1/P2) incidents, leading resolution and post-mortem efforts.
Deliver Level 2 support for AWS-hosted applications by identifying and resolving complex technical issues.
Conduct daily health checks, application monitoring, and AWS Batch job triaging using CloudWatch dashboards.
Simulate and reproduce issues in lower environments to provide validated resolutions and permanent fixes.
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive support tasks and improve system observability.
Provide technical and managerial leadership to the application support team and mentor support engineers.
Manage client escalations and coordinate resolution efforts with upstream and downstream application teams.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience in a Senior/Lead application support role in the healthcare domain.
Master’s degree and 3 years of experience in a Senior/Lead application support role in the healthcare domain.
Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS.
Experience with ITIL including incident, change, CMDB management, and service request fulfillment.
Experience architecting and supporting distributed event-driven systems across AWS services.
Experience with CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk, DynamoDB, and OpenSearch.
Experience with Python, Fast API, Flask, and modern API frameworks integrated into CI/CD and DevOps automation.
Experience with HIPAA Transactions and Edifecs System.
