The role requires expertise in software architecture and API design, with proficiency in Swift or Objective-C. You must possess strong written and presentation skills to communicate effectively with engineers and senior leaders while navigating complex technical requirements for operating systems.

What you'll do

  • Advise framework teams to transform feature plans into well-architected, developer-focused APIs.
  • Evaluate API proposals for ergonomics, consistency with guidelines, and overall developer experience.
  • Teach new Swift features and framework development guidelines to internal engineering teams.
  • Assess API coverage and completeness to identify and recommend necessary additions to the SDKs.
  • Update and improve published API Guidelines based on review discussions and new releases.
  • Participate in the stewardship and evolution of Apple's software quality efforts and processes.

What we're looking for

  • 5-10 years of experience working in software development in Swift or Objective-C.
  • A strong understanding of software architecture and API design.
  • Strong written and presentation skills to communicate effectively with engineers and senior leaders.
  • Proven ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • Hard-working with the ability to work autonomously (preferred).
