Air Vehicle Lead

What you'll do

• Lead the technical development and integration of advanced unmanned rotorcraft and complex aerial systems.
• Execute rapid evaluations of engineering concepts across various aerospace disciplines including aerodynamics and flight dynamics.
• Perform trade studies and physics-based analyses to solve complex "blue-sky" engineering problems.
• Manage the design, configuration, and implementation of high-complexity air vehicle hardware and structures.
• Lead design reviews, interface with vendors, and execute comprehensive hardware test plans.
• Build prototypes, analyze failures, and manage the transition of successful projects into production.
• Support critical software and hardware demonstrations for customers to showcase system capabilities.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years in technical leadership roles such as Technical Program Manager, Chief Engineer, or Lead Engineer.
• Experience leading engineering teams and project execution within the aerospace or defense sectors.
• Deep experience developing VTOL platforms and broad exposure to aircraft concepts, design layouts, stability, and propulsion.
• Hands-on experience with the development and deployment of autonomous systems, particularly in rotorcraft or large UAS.
• Strong project management skills using JIRA and Confluence with knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Eligible to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Familiarity with Defense Acquisition Processes and an extensive aerospace industry network (preferred).
