AIML - Sr Engineering Program Manager, Search Quality and Partnerships will join a team focused on delivering search products with world knowledge answering features using innovative technologies. The role involves leading large cross-functional projects to improve user experiences by collaborating with deep learning and AI engineers who apply groundbreaking technologies, including Large Language Models. Day-to-day responsibilities include driving end-to-end program execution, managing technical dependencies, creating project schedules, and identifying risks while maintaining transparency for executive teams. The candidate will lead measurements for quality and usage scale, manage multiple work streams, and advocate for user experience through both quantitative and qualitative data. Key requirements include expertise in machine learning powered products, software development for machine-learned services, and the ability to navigate complex system architectures and trade-offs while meeting aggressive timelines for high-scale search and generative answer features.
Lead end-to-end program execution for large-scale machine learning products and search features.
Manage complex project schedules, identifying critical paths and technical dependencies across multiple teams.
Drive consensus among cross-functional stakeholders to align on common goals and execution plans.
Proactively identify risks and manage gaps to ensure delivery on aggressive timelines.
Define and track key performance indicators including quality, usage scale, and other success metrics.
Collect and incorporate internal feedback during feature iterations to improve user experience.
Communicate project status and technical updates clearly to executive leadership.
Improve team operations by identifying and implementing more effective processes for delivery.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field and equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience driving large scale program building machine learning powered products.
3+ years of experience bringing a product from concept to completion, ideally involving machine-learning features or sophisticated systems.
Deep understanding of software development for machine-learned products and how analytics and evaluation data improve those products.
Excellent program management skills including structuring and managing multiple interdependent work streams.
Strong ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly to various audiences in both verbal and written forms.
8+ years experience in delivering search and generative answer quality improvements (preferred).
Experience orchestrating the delivery of multiple significant client/server software products requiring large organizations of 100+ across teams (preferred).
