AIML - Sr Engineering Program Manager, Search Quality and Infrastructure will join the team to lead large cross-functional projects focused on building search infrastructure and delivering search products with world knowledge answering features. The role involves driving end-to-end program execution across multiple teams, managing technical dependencies, and ensuring system integration while maintaining execution transparency. You will work alongside deep learning and AI engineers to implement groundbreaking technologies, specifically Large Language Models, to improve quality for shipped features and create new user experiences. Key responsibilities include creating project schedules, identifying risks, and leading measurements for success such as quality and usage scale. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in machine-learning powered products, software development for machine-learned services, and technical system architecture. This role addresses the challenge of delivering high-quality search results and generative answers under aggressive timelines.
Drive end-to-end program execution and manage technical dependencies across multiple cross-functional teams.
Manage project schedules, identifying critical paths and proactively mitigating risks to meet aggressive timelines.
Lead the development of search infrastructure and products using large language models and deep learning.
Coordinate with engineering teams to integrate complex backend and frontend systems for machine-learning features.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product quality, usage scale, and success.
Collect and analyze internal feedback during feature iterations to improve user experience and product quality.
Communicate project status, risks, and strategic updates clearly to executive leadership.
Propose and implement new processes to improve team operations and delivery efficiency.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field and equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience driving large scale program building machine learning powered products.
3+ years of experience bringing a product from concept to completion, ideally involving machine-learning features or sophisticated systems.
Deep understanding of software development for machine-learned products and how analytics and evaluation data improve those products.
Excellent program management skills including structuring and managing multiple interdependent work streams.
Strong ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly and provide succinct project status updates to all levels of audience.
8+ years experience in delivering search and generative answer quality improvements (preferred).
Experience orchestrating the delivery of multiple significant client/server software products requiring large organizations of over 100 people (preferred).
