This role is part of the Digital team, overseeing strategic planning, architecture and modernization of the Technology Architecture for the US Renewables Business. Key initiatives include defining and driving architecture strategies, developing enterprise roadmaps, supporting digital transformation initiatives, and business technology roadmap management. This position collaborates with other digital functional leads in establishing an effective technology architecture across all enterprise Digital platforms and providing primary input to the Digital Governance Process. This function is responsible for process management across the Digital function.
The Enterprise Architect will lead architecture processes, including the Architecture Review Board for US Renewables, liaising with the Digital Center of Expertise for Cybersecurity, Hosting and Networking policies, to have an integrated and standardized technology roadmap and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of Enterprise Architecture practices, standards and frameworks for the Digital Team to use in evaluating technology changes for the Renewables Business Unit.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Business, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis.

10+ years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management, or operations in a multitier environment.

This position is on the AES Indiana Relay/SCADA team, responsible for installing and maintaining protective relay and SCADA systems in IPL’s substations (4kV – 345kV) and power plants. The role supports Relay/SCADA technicians and manages engineering equipment replacement/upgrade projects of limited scope.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an ABET accredited college/university.
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Protective Relaying or SCADA systems on electric utility transmission and distribution systems and at power plants.
Preferred Skills:
- Relay setting development experience on both transmission and distribution systems
- Ability to perform relay coordination studies and experience with short circuit modeling software (e.g., ASPEN OneLiner)
- Experience in substation RTU/SCADA configurations and knowledge of DNP3, ModBus and SEL protocols
- Familiarity with SEL and GE relays and associated software
- Electric utility T&D engineering or operations related experience
- Knowledge of NERC reliability standards (PRC and CIP)

TITLE: Senior Performance Engineer (BESS)

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Robotics Perception and AI Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing and implementing cutting-edge perception and AI algorithms to enable our robots to understand and interact with the world around them. You will leverage your deep expertise in computer vision, machine learning, and robotics to drive innovation and solve complex challenges. The Senior Project Engineer on the Mega and M&A Engineering team will be responsible for design and engineering of utility scale solar PV and energy storage projects in development and construction phases. Responsibilities include lead and support engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, including design development and peer reviews, energy and performance modeling, equipment selection and specifications, and preparation of engineering calculations. Provide technical inputs to support Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) pricing estimates, RFP responses, permitting applications, design drafting, and technical due diligence for M&A project evaluations. Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Robotics Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining our simulation-first development and validation workflow. You will leverage your deep expertise in robotics and simulation systems to drive innovation and solve complex challenges while designing, developing, and implementing robotics systems for Maximo. You will be a key player in defining how Maximo’s software architecture is structured, integrated, and validated before they are deployed to production robots in the field. You will work closely with engineers across Maximo team to design, develop, implement and test robotics solutions that power Maximo. In this role, you will translate product-level requirements into a coherent software and systems architecture for a rugged outdoor robotic platform.

As a specialist in the Maximo business, this position will work collaboratively across the Maximo, external industry partners across the value chain, and AES teams, including engineering, business development, construction, finance, supply chain, and strategy.
Major Responsibilities
- Define the robotics system architecture for Maximo, including subsystem decomposition, interfaces, and integration strategy.
- Own simulation workflows for architecture validation, scenario development, and regression testing.
- Build and maintain simulation assets (USD/URDF imports, sensor models, coordinate frames) and keep them consistent with physical robot configurations.
- Build scenario libraries (terrain/slope, occlusions, lighting, sensor noise) + acceptance metrics
- Simulation-to-field correlation (validate sensor models vs real logs)
- Support transition from simulation to real-world testing by creating test procedures, instrumentation, and debugging workflows; help close gaps between simulation and field
- Establish verification and validation practices: architecture reviews, test plans, performance benchmarks, and traceability from requirements to tests.

Distribution Planning Engineer
The Distribution Planning Engineer leads and supports planning the distribution network with a focus on safety, capacity, reliability, and resiliency. This role utilizes advanced technology and data sets to model, load forecast, and plan the distribution network. This role will identify risks present on the network, create solutions, and calculate their impact technically and financially. The role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders such as other engineering groups, field crews, regulatory, FP&A, and drafting. Responsibilities:
- System Modeling: Develop multi-year (1, 3, 5, 10, 20), multi-scenario, power flow system models supporting system analysis, and integrated planning efforts Develop interfaces from modeling databases to SAP, PSSE, CYME, SCADA/Pi, AMI, and GIS. Execute on the AES four phase approach to achieve industry leader status in system modeling.
- Modeling Architecture: Lead the development and maintenance of distribution modeling equipment databases and systems ensuring processes are in place to make updates as equipment is added, removed, or modified.
- Solving Complex Issues: Solve diverse system modeling problems and complete extensive analysis. Utilize analytical techniques necessary to handle assignments of moderate complexity. - Strategy: Lead long-term power flow modeling strategy and standard process development for AES Indiana and AES Ohio. - External Modeling Liaison: Lead system modeling discussions with external entities like the Ohio PUCO, Indiana IURC, PJM, MISO, and others as needed, for strategic regulatory discussions around the changing system models, impacts to the grid, and possible new business models.
- Non-wires Alternatives (NWAs) Analysis: Provide power flow models to determine the feasibility of NWAs, participation in the development of NWA sections in siting applications, help implementing NWAs, if appropriate.
- People Management: Work closely with AES Indiana and Ohio transmission and distribution simulation and analysis engineers to develop annual assumptions and network models that coincide with available demand forecast data. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to scope projects.
- Other Responsibilities: Participate in system modeling industry groups and conferences; remain up to date with the latest modeling trends and research. Provide leadership on issues relating to system modeling and research. Who You Are
The successful candidate should be someone who meets the following required qualifications:

Job Description
As a Robotics Hardware Engineer in the Maximo team, you will lead the development of advanced robotics systems and components. You will be a key player in the development of the whole robotics HW that enables Maximo, our solar module installation robotic system. We´re looking for a Senior Reliability Engineer to join our team in Southland (AES Alamitos, AES Huntington Beach) - Los Angeles and Orange Counties, Southern California:
Summary:
As a member of the AES Southland Engineering team, the Reliability Engineer will provide engineering expertise in support of the plant's daily operations and maintenance activities at the AES Southland combined cycle generation sites, and assist with the design and construction of replacement generation for the entire AES Southland fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and business support to Safety, Environmental, Development, Commercial, and O&M teams, as well as individuals in the operating businesses and future development projects, and for daily operations.
- Perform asset management strategy implementation, power plant processes and design improvements, capital spending justification, equipment malfunction troubleshooting, failure analysis, annual budget planning, and corrective action recommendations.
- Actively collaborate with the maintenance and planning/scheduling groups in support of maintaining complete and accurate records/plans within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) related to equipment, specifications data, BOM, failure history, etc.
- Assist with the development and implementation of the annual AES Southland engineering plan and budget, that includes factors for work management, long-term maintenance planning, outage preparation and execution, large project preparation and execution, and compliance with NERC and other applicable standards.
- Prepare data-driven justification for capital project prioritization and budget planning.
- Make informed recommendations in situations where data sets may be incomplete.
- Develop and maintain “Key Performance Indicators” for equipment reliability.
- Ensure that appropriate Maintenance and Reliability metrics are in place throughout the site, (planned/unplanned work, planning/scheduling metrics, cost metrics, MTBF, replacement asset value, etc.).
- Ensure equipment history is maintained and analyzed for future trends
- Provide hands-on direct technical accounts of equipment failures and performance degradation. Identify and manage a system of continuous improvement to ensure resolution to chronic “bad actor” equipment.
- Apply Root Cause Analysis, Equipment Criticality Ranking, PM/PdM optimization, Defect Elimination, and/or Failure Modes and Effects Analysis techniques as needed
- Utilize predictive technologies including – but not limited to – vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasound, and motor current analysis.
- Investigate new technologies for reliability improvements.
- Prepare design specifications, perform engineering calculations, review technical specifications, and conduct equipment inspections.
- Facilitate/support operational event and equipment failure investigations to ensure that the root cause/causal factors have been identified, corrective actions prescribed, and follow-up monitoring is conducted as applicable to determine effectiveness.
- Prepare equipment preventative maintenance (PM) tasks, and manage the system for continuous improvement and PM optimization.
- Rank the criticality of assets, typically using Reliability Centered Maintenance approaches, and for defining the proactive maintenance approaches that are cost-beneficial to the business.
- Create risk mitigation strategies for critical assets.
- Develop and maintain digital operator rounds program.
- Coordinate the use of other AES engineering resources, technicians, and third-party resources to accomplish the objective of cost-effective Asset Management & Reliability improvements for maintenance and projects.
- Manage contractors by developing work authorizations, approving completed work, coordinating invoicing and payments, and scheduling work.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with AES standards for safety, health, environment, code of conduct, financial, and other internal policies as applicable.
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering discipline preferred.
- 5-7 years work experience in a related role, or related field of heavy industrial, process or construction engineering.
- Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) and/or Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) preferred
- 5 or more years of experience implementing RCM, CbM/PdM methods
- Self-motivated, independent, capable of performing work with limited instruction. Dependable, thriving in fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with a clear focus on safety, high quality outcomes and business success.
- Proven ability to read, comprehend and apply information from technical manuals and other reference design documents

- Mechanical systems (pumps and fans, heat exchangers including boilers, combustion systems for natural gas, high speed rotating devices, main steel and concrete structures)
- Water chemistry control systems (water treatment plant, steam/water quality monitoring)
- Emissions control systems (SCR)
- Analysis of asset whole lifecycle costing and total cost of ownership
- Practical experience developing and optimizing maintenance strategies and plans
- Implementation and/or work experience with Quality and Asset Management Systems including ISO 9001, ISO 55001
- Experience with multi-discipline projects and the application of system integration techniques across multiple types of assets
- Experience in business analysis and/or asset management and/or risk analysis
- Thorough understanding of heavy industrial plant procedures; safety, environmental compliance, change management, reliability-centered maintenance, root cause analysis, work execution, process optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of regulations and requirements for executing new or construction projects in the state of California.
- Strong English written and verbal communications skills.
- Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) / Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems
