As a Winter 2027 Test Automation Engineer Co-op, you will join the Manufacturing Test organization to build the software backbone ensuring product quality across land, sea, and air platforms. You will work on a fast-moving team to develop test executive tools, automation pipelines, and analytics designed to reduce operator time and improve development cycles. Your daily responsibilities include developing automated test sequences in Python, integrating local data into cloud pipelines, building triage tools for recurring failures, and improving CI/CD processes. You may also design features for desktop applications or write scripts for device communication via protocols like USB, Serial, or CAN. The role requires proficiency in Python, version control with git, and familiarity with automated testing, cloud infrastructure, and database systems to solve complex manufacturing and hardware integration challenges.

What you'll do

Develop and validate Python scripts to automate manual test procedures on active manufacturing lines.
Integrate local test station data into cloud pipelines while managing authentication and security considerations.
Investigate recurring test failures to identify root causes and build triage tools for operators.
Design and implement new features for existing desktop applications on Windows or Linux platforms.
Identify and automate manual steps within the software deployment process to improve CI/CD pipelines.
Write and validate scripts to communicate with hardware fixtures using protocols like USB, Serial, or CAN.
Create technical documentation and reports for all automation scripts and integration projects.

What we're looking for

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Must be returning to school at the end of the internship to continue academic studies for at least one quarter or semester.
Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to export-controlled information or facilities.
Ability to complete an in-person 16-24 week internship in winter 2027.
Coursework or project experience with Python (preferred).
Exposure to version control (git) (preferred).
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts or automated testing (preferred).
Experience with device communication protocols, desktop application development, cloud infrastructure, or databases (preferred).
