What you'll do

Design electronics from initial concept through functional prototype including hardware selection and PCB design.
Integrate systems at the hardware level to ensure full functionality.
Troubleshoot issues across electrical and software boundaries using lab equipment and debugging tools.
Develop low-level firmware and software for microcontrollers and embedded Linux systems.
Create supporting development and testing tools for internal engineering use.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of the development lifecycle.
Support new developments, active deployments, and customer-operated hardware in a fast-paced environment.

What we're looking for

Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Must be returning to school at the end of the internship to continue academic studies for at least one quarter or semester.
Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to export-controlled information and facilities.
Ability to complete an in-person 16 to 24-week internship in winter 2027.
Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, current-probes, and automation of tests (preferred).
Familiarity with software development processes and tools such as git, Github, JIRA, etc. (preferred).
Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc. (preferred).
Familiarity with embedded Linux development, including device trees, hardware drivers, bootloaders, and basic Unix/Linux tools (preferred).
