VP, Software Engineering

What you'll do

• Oversee day-to-day activities for small teams of software engineers to ensure projects progress as planned.
• Estimate project timelines, resources, and milestones in collaboration with senior managers and product owners.
• Assign tasks to team members based on their specific strengths, experience, and career development goals.
• Monitor development task progress, remove blockers, and ensure the team meets scheduled deadlines.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and QA to align engineering efforts with project goals.
• Serve as a communication bridge between the engineering team and senior management regarding status updates and feedback.
• Manage team workloads to balance productivity while preventing employee burnout.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to identify areas for improvement.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent field experience.
• 7+ years of increasing leadership in the Software/Technology space, ideally as a Director/VP of Engineering.
• Proven success driving strategic technology development and modernization to meet business needs.
• Strong experience coordinating and facilitating sprint planning and story pointing processes.
• Ability to develop project plans and manage team capacity and productivity.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, and communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Willingness to undergo a drug test, background investigation, and fingerprinting.
