The Vice President, Software Engineering will lead the Developer Workbench team to create a unified, AI-enabled, end-to-end software engineering experience across the enterprise. This leader will transform disconnected tools into a productized developer experience by integrating engineering products, AI-assisted coding capabilities, development environments, testing workflows, deployment pipelines, and cloud development experiences into one cohesive platform. Key responsibilities include defining technical architecture, establishing tooling governance, and driving AI-native engineering capabilities while managing a high-performing organization of engineers and architects. The role requires expertise in CI/CD, cloud-native architecture, platform engineering, and DevOps. The primary objective is to improve developer productivity, accelerate onboarding, and strengthen governance across the software development lifecycle by providing a frictionless journey from initial coding through deployment and monitoring.
Define and execute the engineering strategy, technical architecture, and roadmap for a unified developer platform.
Integrate developer tooling, AI coding capabilities, and deployment pipelines into a seamless end-to-end experience.
Lead the adoption and governance of AI-assisted software engineering tools and agentic development capabilities.
Establish a governance model for developer tools, including lifecycle management, versioning, and cost transparency.
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing organization of engineers, architects, and platform specialists.
Partner with senior stakeholders across security, finance, and product to align platform investments with business value.
Measure platform effectiveness through adoption, productivity, quality, and developer satisfaction metrics.
What we're looking for
15+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
8+ years of experience leading large engineering teams or platform engineering organizations.
Proven experience building or scaling developer platforms, internal engineering platforms, DevEx organizations, cloud platforms, DevOps platforms, or engineering productivity functions.
Strong understanding of modern software development practices, CI/CD, cloud-native architecture, platform engineering, developer tooling, quality engineering, and secure software delivery.
Experience leading complex enterprise technology transformations in a matrixed environment.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and align cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong track record of building high-performing teams and developing engineering leaders.
Experience using data, telemetry, and metrics to improve engineering productivity and platform adoption.
Experience with AI-assisted software development tools and emerging agentic engineering workflows (preferred).
Experience integrating developer tools across IDEs, source control, CI/CD, testing, deployment, observability, and cloud environments (preferred).
Background in developer experience, platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, cloud engineering, or engineering enablement (preferred).
Experience supporting large-scale developer communities in a global enterprise (preferred).
Familiarity with engineering productivity measurement, developer satisfaction metrics, and platform adoption frameworks (preferred).
