JOB TITLE: VP Apps Dev Tech Lead Analyst The VP Apps Dev Tech Lead Analyst joins the Finance Engine – Hedge Fund Billing Technology team as a Senior Applications Development Engineer. In this hands-on role, you will develop, optimize, and maintain high-throughput financial calculation engines and distributed microservices for global institutional hedge fund clients. You will build full-stack solutions, manage complex fee structures, and ensure transactional integrity across high-volume workflows. Your daily work involves coding in Core Java, Spring Boot, and Angular using TypeScript, RxJS, and HTML5. You will utilize SQL for MSSQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL, and manage messaging via Kafka, RabbitMQ, or JMS. Technical tasks include containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD via Jenkins or Harness, and automated testing using JUnit and Mockito to solve low-latency billing problems.

What you'll do

Write clean, modular code for distributed Core Java/Spring Boot microservices and Angular SPAs.
Implement high-throughput financial calculation logic and multi-asset billing workflows with low-latency execution.
Design and develop secure RESTful APIs and asynchronous event-driven messaging pipelines using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies on relational databases to ensure ACID compliance.
Perform deep-dive debugging of runtime issues, thread contention, memory leaks, and distributed transaction bottlenecks.
Write comprehensive unit, integration, and component tests using JUnit and Mockito to maintain high test coverage.
Build and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and container deployment manifests for Docker and Kubernetes environments.
Translate user stories into detailed technical designs, including class diagrams and sequence flows.

What we're looking for

6–10+ years of hands-on software development experience building enterprise-scale distributed systems and transactional applications.
Deep hands-on expertise in Core Java (Java 11/17/21), JVM memory management, multi-threading, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Hibernate/JPA.
Hands-on experience developing single-page applications using modern Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, HTML5, and CSS/SCSS.
Strong hands-on SQL programming and tuning experience across MSSQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
Practical experience developing event-driven producers/consumers using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or JMS.
Working knowledge of Docker, Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes, Linux shell scripting, and Git/Bitbucket.
Experience with Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, Harness, JUnit, Mockito, and SonarQube.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
