TL;DR · Voltage Regulator Architect

The Voltage Regulator (VR) Architect joins the Power Delivery Team to define and drive next-generation power delivery solutions for AI, HPC, mobile, automotive, and data center platforms. This role involves designing architectures for voltage regulators and power conversion systems, ranging from 48V/12V input rails to sub-1V silicon loads. The architect will lead the development of multiphase buck converters, PMICs, integrated voltage regulators (IVRs), and switched-capacitor converters while optimizing for efficiency, transient response, and thermal performance. Key technical competencies include power electronics, analog and mixed-signal circuit design, control theory, loop compensation, and power delivery networks (PDNs). The role requires expertise in DC-DC converter design and advanced technologies like FinFET, GAA, and backside power delivery to solve complex power conversion challenges across system, package, and silicon levels for high-current applications.

What you'll do

  • Define voltage regulator and power delivery architectures for products ranging from 48V inputs to sub-1V silicon loads.
  • Lead the design and evaluation of advanced solutions including multiphase buck converters, PMICs, and integrated voltage regulators.
  • Optimize system-level performance regarding efficiency, transient response, power density, thermal performance, and cost.
  • Develop analog control architectures, compensation schemes, and feedback loops for high-current voltage regulators.
  • Conduct technology assessments and roadmaps for emerging on-chip and near-die voltage regulation technologies.
  • Interface with foundries to define process requirements and device utilization strategies for integrated voltage regulator solutions.
  • Drive the co-optimization of process technology, silicon implementation, package integration, and power delivery networks.
  • Partner with external vendors to influence future regulator technologies and product roadmaps.

What we're looking for

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 10+ years of experience is required.
  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 9+ years of experience is required.
  • A PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 8+ years of experience is required.
  • Candidates must have expertise in power electronics, analog and mixed-signal circuit design, and control theory.
  • Experience in voltage regulator, PMIC, power management, or power delivery architecture is required.
  • Expertise in DC-DC converter design, multiphase voltage regulators, and integrated voltage regulators (IVRs) is required.
  • Proficiency in power delivery networks (PDNs), power integrity, and transient analysis is required.
  • Experience with advanced packaging technologies and system technology co-optimization is preferred.
