As a Virtuoso Custom CAD Engineer within the Silicon Technologies group, you will provide critical infrastructure support for digital, analog, and mixed-signal designs. You will be responsible for supporting Cadence custom flows, tool development, installation, maintenance, and configuration while collaborating with design teams to create utilities and scripts. Your daily work involves managing Virtuoso Layout and schematic software, developing automation and regression flow support, and maintaining technical documentation. To succeed in this role, you must possess expertise in Python programming and experience with Unix or Linux systems. The position requires proficiency in specialized tools including Cadence Composer Virtuoso, VXL, PCELLs, and CDFs, alongside knowledge of SKILL, Perl, and Tcl. You will solve complex technical challenges to improve design methodology and productivity for high-performance, power-efficient display and image sensors.

What you'll do

Provide technical support for digital, analog, and mixed-signal designs using Cadence tools.
Develop custom utilities and scripts to improve design team productivity.
Manage the installation, maintenance, and configuration of Cadence Virtuoso layout and schematic software.
Support release flows based on established revision control systems.
Perform development testing, automation, and regression flow support for new tools.
Provide Unix/Linux system support and development for internal CAD tools.
Create and maintain technical documentation for design methodologies and tool usage.

What we're looking for

Bachelor of Science degree and 10 years of relevant industry experience.
Experience in Python programming and scripting.
Experience in analog and digital new product development IC CAD support using EDA tools (preferred).
Expertise in Cadence Composer Virtuoso, Layout tools, VXL, PCELLs, and CDFs (preferred).
Experience supporting data management tools (preferred).
Deep knowledge of programming languages such as Python, DFII, SKILL, Perl, and Tcl (preferred).
Proficiency with Unix/Linux OS, utilities, and scripting (preferred).
Strong oral and written communication skills (preferred).
