The (USA) Systems and Infrastructure Engineer III joins the Independent Software Vendor team to support, maintain, and enhance third-party software products on the z/OS mainframe platform. This role involves managing the full ISV lifecycle, including onboarding, configuration, upgrades, and decommissioning of critical tools for security, data handling, and scheduling. You will perform performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution within complex z/OS and Parallel Sysplex environments. Key technical requirements include proficiency in JCL, TSO, REXX, Python, and SQL automation, along with experience using AI-assisted tools for observability and anomaly detection. You will manage specific products like BMC, Compuware, Control-M, Mobius, Connect Direct, Tectia SSH, SAS, and MXG. The work ensures reliable enterprise operations by addressing vulnerabilities, maintaining compliance, and coordinating with vendors and internal engineering teams.
Manage the full z/OS ISV lifecycle including onboarding, configuration, upgrades, and decommissioning.
Support and maintain complex z/OS and Parallel Sysplex environments through performance monitoring and issue resolution.
Automate tasks and processes using JCL, TSO, REXX, Python, and SQL.
Coordinate with external vendors to manage software installations, licensing, and technical requirements.
Remediate vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security, access governance, and audit standards.
Utilize AI-assisted tools for observability, incident analysis, and anomaly detection.
Provide on-call support to resolve critical incidents and maintain uninterrupted enterprise operations.
What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or a related area and 2 years of technology infrastructure engineering experience.
Must have 3 years of experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility, or virtualization-related technologies.
Must have expertise in z/OS ISV lifecycle management, including onboarding, upgrades, configuration management, decommissioning, and vendor coordination.
Must have experience supporting complex z/OS and Parallel Sysplex environments, including maintenance, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
Must be proficient in JCL, TSO, REXX, Python, and SQL automation.
Must have experience with key ISV products including BMC, Compuware, Control-M, Mobius, Connect Direct, Tectia SSH, SAS, and MXG.
Must have knowledge of security, compliance, access governance, vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness.
Must have a Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or a related area (preferred).
