The (USA) Senior, Systems and Infrastructure Engineer joins the Mainframe Independent Software Vendor team to manage third-party software critical to operations, security, and data management. This role involves owning the end-to-end lifecycle of ISV products on z/OS, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades. You will lead complex incident investigations, perform root-cause analysis, and develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include maintaining centralized repositories, governing change management, and ensuring compliance with enterprise standards. You will utilize JCL, REXX, Python, SQL, and TSO, alongside AI-assisted tools for observability and anomaly detection. Technical expertise must include Parallel Sysplex environments and specific products like BMC, Compuware, Control-M, Mobius, Connect Direct, Tectia SSH, SAS, and MXG to maintain stable, resilient mainframe systems.
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of ISV products on z/OS, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and patching.
Lead complex incident investigations and perform root-cause analysis to minimize system downtime.
Develop automation and AI-enabled solutions using JCL, REXX, Python, and SQL to improve operational efficiency.
Monitor ISV health and performance using AI-assisted analytics to identify risks and accelerate resolution.
Govern change management, access controls, audit readiness, and security remediation processes.
Maintain centralized repositories of runbooks, configuration standards, and operational knowledge.
Provide technical leadership and mentor associates on operational standards and best practices.
What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or a related area and 3 years of technology infrastructure engineering experience.
Must have 5 years of experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility, or virtualization-related technologies.
Must have expertise in z/OS ISV lifecycle management, including onboarding, upgrades, configuration management, decommissioning, and vendor coordination.
Must have experience supporting complex z/OS and Parallel Sysplex environments, including maintenance, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
Must be proficient in JCL, TSO, REXX, Python, and SQL automation.
Must have experience using AI-assisted tools for observability, incident analysis, anomaly detection, documentation, and automation.
Must have hands-on experience with ISV products including BMC, Compuware, Control-M, Mobius, Connect Direct, Tectia SSH, SAS, and MXG.
Must have knowledge of security, compliance, access governance, vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness.
Must be available for on-call support and incident resolution.
Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or a related area (preferred).
Must have 1 year of experience in configuration management, developing automation for Provisioning and Orchestration (preferred).
Must have experience developing and managing service-level objectives (SLOs) and service level indicators (SLIs) for Infrastructure Service availability and performance (preferred).
Must have knowledge of implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies (preferred).
