As a Staff Software Engineer within the Growth Tech Marketplace organization, you will serve as a technical backbone for the cross-border commerce platform. You will design cross-service architectures, establish engineering standards, and translate complex business requirements into scalable production-grade systems. Your daily responsibilities include owning technical designs for seller onboarding, order orchestration, compliance, and payments infrastructure while mentoring senior engineers. You will drive adoption of coding standards, testing practices, and API design principles using tools like SonarQube, Snyk, and Gatekeeper. The role requires expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native platforms including Kubernetes, GCP, and Azure. What we're looking for

Demonstrate deep experience designing and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native platforms like Kubernetes or GCP/Azure.
Exhibit the ability to reason across multiple services to identify cross-cutting concerns like shared data models, consistency guarantees, and API contracts.
Show a track record of driving technical alignment and building consensus across multiple squads without direct authority.
Possess working familiarity with e-commerce or marketplace platform challenges, including order lifecycle management and international compliance.
Demonstrate an operational excellence mindset by owning SLOs, leading incident retrospectives, and building observability into system designs.
Hold a Master's degree in a related field and 2 years of experience (preferred); possess knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards and digital accessibility (preferred).
