Unix and Linux Team Lead

What you'll do

• Oversee day-to-day team operations by delegating tasks, resolving roadblocks, and ensuring timely delivery of Unix and Linux services.
• Act as a subject matter expert to develop technical strategies and visions for the service catalog in partnership with leadership.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to manage timelines, resource requirements, risk management, and status reporting.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement to modernize technology services and adopt new ways of working.
• Manage personnel activities including recruitment, hiring, performance management, training, and mentoring team members.
• Oversee incident management by coordinating resolution efforts and providing clear communication and after-action reporting to stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related discipline.
• Must have 6+ years of related experience in an IT-related field.
• Must have experience leading technical teams, managing daily operations, and overseeing service delivery.
• Must have experience in people management including recruiting, hiring, performance management, and mentoring engineers.
• Must have hands-on experience with Unix and Linux variants and configuration management.
• Must have experience applying Agile and project management practices to manage backlogs and technical initiatives.
• Must have working knowledge of ITIL principles for incident, problem, change, and service level management.
• Must be able to obtain a NACI (T1) Public Trust clearance.
• Relevant industry certifications in RHEL, Solaris, Unix, cloud, ITIL, Agile, or project management (preferred).
• Experience supporting technology services within federal government, healthcare, or regulated environments (preferred).
