Storage Team Lead
The Storage Team Lead joins the CIT Hosting and Storage Services Program to lead a technical team focused on compute, storage, and data protection. This role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, service delivery, and project execution while managing personnel tasks such as recruitment, training, and performance management. The leader will develop technical strategies for the service catalog, manage incident resolution, and drive innovation through automation and emerging technologies like AI. Key responsibilities include coordinating with Project Managers to ensure transparent communication on timelines and risks. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in VMware, enterprise storage, server operating systems, and backup services. They must be proficient in Agile methodology and ITIL practices to manage complex infrastructure environments. This role addresses the technical challenge of modernizing service delivery while ensuring reliable performance for critical data protection and hosting requirements.
Oversee daily team operations for compute, VMware, enterprise storage, and backup services.
Develop technical strategies and visions to meet customer demands and program goals.
Coordinate with Project Managers on timelines, resource requirements, risk management, and status reporting.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement to modernize service delivery and infrastructure capabilities.
Manage personnel activities including recruitment, hiring, performance management, training, and mentoring.
Oversee incident management by coordinating resolution efforts and providing stakeholder communications.
What we're looking for
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related discipline.
Must have 6+ years of experience in an IT-related field.
Must hold a NACI (T1) Public Trust clearance.
Experience leading technical teams, including personnel management, hiring, and performance management is required.
Experience managing technical projects from planning through delivery using Agile and project management practices is required.
Hands-on experience with compute, server operating systems, virtualization, enterprise storage, and backup services is required.
Working knowledge of ITIL principles and practices is required.
Relevant certifications in VMware, enterprise storage, cloud, ITIL, Agile, or project management (preferred); experience in federal or healthcare environments (preferred).
