What you'll do

  • Manage day-to-day team operations by delegating tasks, resolving roadblocks, and ensuring timely delivery of database services.
  • Develop and execute the technical strategy and vision for the service catalog in partnership with federal leadership.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to manage timelines, resource requirements, risk management, and status reporting.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement to modernize technology services and adopt new ways of working.
  • Manage personnel activities including recruitment, hiring, performance management, training, and mentoring for the engineering team.
  • Oversee incident management by coordinating resolution efforts and providing clear communication and after-action reporting to stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance on Oracle and Microsoft SQL platforms across both on-premise and cloud environments.

What we're looking for

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related discipline.
  • Must have 8+ years of experience in an IT-related field.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a NACI (T1) Public Trust clearance.
  • Experience managing people, including recruiting, hiring, performance management, and mentoring engineers is required.
  • Experience leading technical projects from planning through delivery and overseeing technology service portfolios is required.
  • Required hands-on experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and middleware technologies like WebLogic in on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Must have experience applying Agile methodologies, ITIL principles, and project management practices to manage backlogs and service delivery.
  • Relevant certifications in RHEL, Solaris, Unix, cloud, ITIL, Agile, or project management are preferred.
  • Experience supporting services in federal government or healthcare environments is preferred.
