Transmission System Operations Engineering Modeling Engineer

What you'll do

• Model transmission system topology including impedance and facility ratings for lines, stations, and transformers.
• Maintain internal modeling databases for medium, high, and extra-high voltage systems.
• Fulfill system modeling requests from Engineering and Operations personnel via the ServiceNow ticketing system.
• Model planned projects to represent the future state of the transmission system.
• Perform activities required to ensure compliance with NERC and industry standards.
• Assist in the preparation of technical papers and reports.
• Resolve routine engineering tasks and technical problems under the guidance of senior engineers.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or a bachelor's in engineering technology with a PE license.
• For Grade 7 roles, candidates must have experience applying engineering technology principles.
• Ability to model transmission system topology including impedance and facility ratings for various voltages.
• Knowledge of NERC compliance standards and related industry regulations.
• Proficiency in using internal modeling databases and ServiceNow ticketing systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to prepare reports and technical papers.
• Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is preferred.
