JOB TITLE: Traffic and Secure Services Network SRE Manager The Apple Services Engineering group is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Site Reliability Engineering team dedicated to Traffic, Load Balancing, and Secure Networking. In this role, you will build software and systems to manage services and applications through automation while overseeing the deployment, support, and monitoring of new products and configurations. You will focus on measuring and optimizing service performance to ensure high availability and efficiency. The position requires expertise in traffic management, software engineering, and reliability engineering. Key technical skills include proficiency with Golang, Python, Java, and bash, alongside experience with DevOps tools and Traffic technologies like LB, GSLB, and TLS. You will solve complex problems regarding the securitization of network connections and the development of next-generation load balancers.

What you'll do

  • Build software and systems to manage services and applications through automation.
  • Deploy, support, and monitor existing and new products and configurations.
  • Measure and optimize service performance across the network.
  • Explore and evaluate new technologies to solve future infrastructure problems.
  • Lead the development of next-generation load balancers and secure network connections.
  • Manage a global 24/7 engineering organization to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Deliver maintainable, understandable, and diagnosable technical solutions.

What we're looking for

  • 8 years of traffic management experience.
  • 10 years of software engineering or reliability engineering experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in relevant engineering disciplines.
  • Track record of building and running high-performance teams (preferred).
  • Advanced experience with programming and/or scripting languages including Golang, Python, Java, and bash (preferred).
  • Experience with DevOps tools, processes, and culture (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge in Traffic (LB/GSLB/TLS) technologies and troubleshooting tools (preferred).
  • Extensive experience leading customer facing systems in a high uptime 24/7 environment (preferred).
