Senior Manager, Security Engineering - Engineer

What you'll do

• Define and execute the strategic roadmap for threat detection across corporate, production, and cloud environments.
• Own a prioritized threat-scenario inventory and ensure provable detection coverage for all environments.
• Lead teams in authoring, testing, and tuning detection logic across SIEM rules, behavioral models, and vendor signals.
• Manage the infrastructure for telemetry ingestion, normalization, enrichment, and end-to-end observability of detection pipelines.
• Drive measurable improvements in time-to-detect and signal-to-noise ratios to optimize responder capacity.
• Implement ML and LLM-based techniques for detection, triage, and case enrichment with built-in safety and auditability.
• Manage a team of security and software engineers, providing mentorship and setting ambitious performance goals.
• Evaluate and manage external security vendor relationships and make build-vs-buy cost-coverage tradeoffs.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related technical field.
• Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of full-time work experience in software engineering or security engineering prior to Engineering Management experience.
• 5+ years of full-time Engineering Management experience, including experience leading senior/staff engineers and growing other leaders.
• Demonstrable domain expertise owning complex detection and response programs at enterprise or cloud scale.
• Proven track record of setting multi-team technical strategy and delivering measurable outcomes in coverage, time-to-detect, or alert quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey detection strategy and systemic risk to executive leadership and senior engineers.
• Hands-on background in detection engineering and operating a modern detection stack at scale (preferred).
