Tracking Software Engineer, Space

What you'll do

• Develop 2D and 3D tracking algorithms for space objects using advanced state estimation and data association techniques.
• Implement multi-target tracking systems including track initiation, maintenance, correlation, and termination.
• Create and evaluate multi-sensor fusion approaches for EO/IR, RF, or hybrid sensor architectures.
• Build physics-based models to conduct Monte Carlo analysis and hardware-in-the-loop testing to validate performance.
• Transition tracking algorithms from MATLAB and Python prototypes into production C++ code for real-time systems.
• Conduct trade studies and performance analyses of tracking robustness in high-clutter or contested environments.
• Support the systems engineering lifecycle including requirements decomposition, verification planning, and design reviews.
• Prepare technical documentation and briefings for formal design reviews and customer engagements.

What we're looking for

• Must possess and be able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and testing multi-target tracking algorithms for aerospace, defense, or autonomous systems.
• Strong theoretical and practical experience with state estimation techniques including Kalman Filters (EKF, UKF) and IMM filters.
• Experience developing tracking algorithms for track initiation, maintenance, correlation, and termination in operational systems.
• Proficiency in algorithm development using MATLAB and Python with experience transitioning code to C++ for production deployment.
• Experience with modeling, simulation, and testing workflows including Monte Carlo analysis and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate tracking algorithms into real-time operational systems.
