As a member of the Embedded and Adaptive Computing organization, the Test & Measurement Systems Architect will define and drive long-term strategy within the global Test & Measurement market. This role serves as a technical and strategic lead for customers in semiconductor test, wireless infrastructure, network test, and instrumentation. The architect will identify emerging trends, develop technology adoption strategies, and translate customer requirements into actionable product roadmaps. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading architecture engagements with customer executives, defining differentiated solutions using AMD CPUs, adaptive SoCs, FPGAs, AI Engines, and software platforms, and building ecosystem partnerships. Key technical competencies include expertise in signal processing, embedded systems, high-speed interfaces like PCIe and Ethernet, and software-defined instrumentation. The role addresses the challenge of creating next-generation test systems by integrating heterogeneous compute architectures to solve complex problems in communication and industrial automation.
Define long-term technology and market strategies for the global Test & Measurement industry.
Serve as a primary technical advisor to customer CTOs and engineering leadership to define future roadmaps.
Translate customer requirements into actionable product specifications and roadmap priorities for AMD's internal teams.
Design differentiated solutions using AMD CPUs, FPGAs, AI Engines, and software platforms.
Establish and manage strategic partnerships with software vendors, system integrators, and technology providers.
Support business growth by providing technical leadership during RFQs, RFPs, and high-stakes sales bids.
Represent the company as a thought leader at industry conferences, workshops, and executive briefings.
Develop white papers, technical articles, and presentation content to increase brand visibility in the T&M community.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
Extensive industry experience in Test & Measurement, instrumentation, semiconductor test, communications test, aerospace, defense, or industrial automation.
Strong understanding of system architecture, signal processing, embedded systems, and heterogeneous compute architectures.
Experience architecting solutions utilizing CPUs, FPGAs, adaptive SoCs, AI accelerators, GPUs, or custom ASICs.
Deep knowledge of high-speed interfaces and networking technologies including PCIe, Ethernet, JESD204, and CXL.
Knowledge of embedded software, firmware, Linux, real-time operating systems, and development toolchains.
Experience with software-defined instrumentation, signal processing, data analytics, and AI-assisted test methodologies.
Proven track record of influencing product strategy, technology roadmaps, or ecosystem development.
