The Temp Services Coordinator provides essential operational and technical support to the Programs Department by managing Temporary/Fire Services Management Plans for ship repair, overhaul, and modernization activities. This role is responsible for coordinating shipboard temporary structures, firefighting systems, laydown areas, and hydrostatic testing while ensuring compliance with NAVSEA Standard Item 009-08 requirements. The daily work involves collaborating with Waterfront Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and government representatives to maintain fire safety standards across multiple departments. Key responsibilities include monitoring combustible materials, preparing technical reports, and developing professional presentations. Candidates must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. This role solves critical safety and logistical challenges within the maritime industrial sector by ensuring that all temporary fire protection systems remain operational and compliant during complex naval vessel maintenance projects.
Ensure all fire safety operations comply with NAVSEA Standard Item 009-08 and other regulatory requirements.
Monitor the location of combustible materials and ensure fire lanes remain unobstructed.
Submit and update shipboard structure plans for Fire Safety Council review and endorsement.
Coordinate inspection, maintenance, and testing schedules for firefighting systems and equipment.
Identify fire safety risks and provide written recommendations to senior leadership for corrective actions.
Develop technical reports, operational documentation, and professional presentations to support project execution.
What we're looking for
Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable, insurable transportation.
Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances and credentials for government facilities and naval installations.
Experience in ship repair, waterfront operations, or temporary fire protection systems (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
PMP certification (preferred).
Master's degree with 3 years of experience, Bachelor's with 5 years, Associate's with 12 years, or High School diploma with 18 years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to interpret operational metrics and develop technical reports and professional presentations.
