Technology Director- Head of Engineering for a Strategic Trade Management serves as a senior leader within the Commercial Corporate & Investment Bank Technology team. This role is responsible for defining and executing a multi-year technology vision for the firm's next-generation Strategic Trade Management platform, which supports Fixed Income and Derivatives businesses. The individual will build and lead high-performing engineering teams to modernize trade capture, lifecycle processing, pricing, risk, settlement, and regulatory reporting capabilities. Key responsibilities include transitioning legacy systems to cloud-native architectures using distributed systems, event-driven design patterns, and real-time processing frameworks. The role requires expertise in Java, microservices, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and DevSecOps practices. The position addresses the complex challenge of modernizing capital markets infrastructure while ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory requirements and implementing AI-enabled software delivery to enhance operational workflows and platform scalability.
Define and execute the multi-year technology roadmap for the Strategic Trade Management platform.
Drive the transition toward a unified, cloud-native architecture using event-driven design patterns.
Build, mentor, and lead high-performing engineering teams across multiple product areas.
Lead large-scale modernization of trade lifecycle management, risk processing, and market data integration.
Champion AI-driven automation and intelligent workflow capabilities across software delivery processes.
Partner with senior stakeholders in trading, risk, and operations to align technology with business goals.
Establish engineering standards for observability, resiliency, security, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
Ensure all platforms comply with stringent regulatory, audit, and cybersecurity requirements.
What we're looking for
10+ years of technology strategic leadership experience or equivalent through work, training, military service, or education.
4+ years of management or leadership experience.
10+ years of technology leadership experience supporting Capital Markets, Trading, or Financial Services organizations.
10+ years of experience with Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Commodities, and Derivatives trading workflows and trade lifecycle management.
7+ years of experience leading modernization programs involving cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, event-driven platforms, and data-intensive applications.
7+ years of experience with a technical foundation in Java, distributed systems, microservices, cloud technologies, and modern software engineering practices.
Experience leading strategic trading platform initiatives within a global investment bank or major financial institution (preferred).
Proven experience leading large engineering organizations and delivering strategic transformation initiatives (preferred).
