As a Technology & Cybersecurity Operational Risk Management (IAM) – Vice President, you will serve as a senior Second Line of Defense partner within the Risk Management and Compliance team. You will provide independent oversight and advisory support to the Cybersecurity organization, evaluating risks across established and emerging technology domains. Your daily responsibilities include assessing Secure Software Development Lifecycle and Secure by Design practices, providing opinions on cryptographic strategies, and evaluating risks associated with advanced artificial intelligence models. You will identify control gaps, recommend remediation strategies, and support the evolution of cybersecurity risk frameworks. The role requires ten years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security architecture, or security operations. Key competencies include risk assessment, stakeholder management, and expertise in cryptography, authentication controls, and machine learning governance within a regulated financial services environment.

What you'll do

  • Provide independent risk oversight and advisory support to the firm's Cybersecurity organization as a Second Line of Defense partner.
  • Assess the design and effectiveness of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Secure by Design practices.
  • Evaluate cybersecurity risks for control managers and engineering teams to identify gaps and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Provide oversight and opinions on the firm's cryptographic strategy, including key management and post-quantum cryptography risks.
  • Assess risks and governance frameworks associated with the deployment of advanced artificial intelligence technologies.
  • Provide independent opinions on risk acceptance decisions while balancing oversight with collaborative partnership.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of cybersecurity risk frameworks, standards, policies, and governance practices.
  • Support research and testing activities to inform the evolution of cybersecurity risk management practices.

What we're looking for

  • 10 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security architecture, security operations, or other technical cybersecurity disciplines.
  • Experience operating within a First Line of Defense cybersecurity or technology security function.
  • Experience designing, implementing, or overseeing Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Secure by Design programs in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity risk management principles, controls, and governance within a regulated financial services environment or similar complex organization.
  • Experience evaluating cybersecurity risks and control effectiveness across technology and security environments.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in cryptography, AI/ML security, software engineering, or holding certifications like CISSP, CISM, or GIAC (preferred).
