What you'll do

  • Lead the controller technical review process to ensure compliance with global requirements.
  • Develop and maintain robust Bill of Materials (BOM) strategies focused on cost, mass, investment, and quality.
  • Manage the development of in-house designed controllers and oversee related hardware/software interfaces.
  • Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting activities and manufacturing engineering support.
  • Develop sourcing strategies and support supplier evaluation and qualification processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to resolve software, calibration, and integration issues.
  • Lead new designs or major redesigns while ensuring global compatibility across components.
  • Mentor DREs on common processes and provide guidance for current production issues.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Chemistry, Physics, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience applying microprocessor-based controllers to automotive vehicle electrical systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of serial data communications and embedded software development, testing, and associated tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of requirements engineering processes including FMEA and Preliminary Hazard Analyses.
  • In-depth knowledge of verification and validation processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of design development, test engineering, manufacturing, assembly operations, and vehicle service procedures.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Very high level of analytical problem-solving skills for complex and unusual issues.
