The Integration & Test Engineer, Powertrain joins the Omen team to support the development of a runway-independent, hover-to-cruise autonomous air vehicle. As a hands-on individual contributor, you will plan and execute powertrain integration and test activities across various environments, including bench tests, Hardware In Lab, Hardware In The Loop, surrogate platforms, and flight tests. Your daily work involves the bring-up, characterization, and testing of electric machines, inverters, gearboxes, battery modules, battery management systems, high voltage distribution, and powertrain controllers. You will utilize DAQ setups, sensors, and communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, and Serial to ensure system safety and performance. This role solves critical propulsion and thermal management challenges for a Group 3 platform requiring high power-to-weight ratios and rapid hardware iteration.
