Technical Director, Unannounced Cloud Game

What you'll do

• Own all technical aspects of the project, including architecture, system design, and technical documentation.
• Hire, mentor, and lead a world-class engineering team focused on innovation and high development standards.
• Oversee technical execution across prototype, production, and live ops while upholding bars for code quality and performance.
• Integrate Netflix’s cloud-gaming platform technologies into the game development pipeline.
• Serve as the final escalation point for engineering challenges, including deep engine-layer debugging and performance profiling.
• Refine development processes, tools, and pipelines to ensure optimal efficiency and scalability.
• Evaluate and manage external co-development partners to ensure technical compatibility and smooth cooperation.

What we're looking for

• 10+ years of experience developing and launching high-fidelity games.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Unreal Engine 5 or Unity and C++.
• Skilled at profiling and debugging at the engine layer, including diagnosing frame time and memory issues.
• Expert in building and maintaining modular, scalable frameworks including world partition, level streaming, and asset virtualization.
• Proven track record optimizing CPU, GPU, and memory footprints for constrained environments.
• Deep technical expertise across game architecture, gameplay systems, content pipelines, rendering, and cross-platform development.
• Familiar with contemporary web technologies (JavaScript, React, etc.) and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and scale multidisciplinary engineering teams.
