Technical Director, Unannounced Cloud Game

What you'll do

• Define and execute high-quality technical direction across multiple game projects using Unreal Engine 5 or Unity.
• Own all project technical aspects including architecture, system design, development processes, and technical documentation.
• Hire, mentor, and lead a world-class engineering team focused on innovation and high development standards.
• Oversee technical execution across prototype, production, and live operations while ensuring code quality and performance optimization.
• Integrate Netflix’s cloud-gaming platform technologies into game projects to ensure seamless functionality.
• Evaluate and manage external co-development partners to ensure technical compatibility and smooth cooperation.
• Serve as the final escalation point for engineering challenges, including deep engine-layer debugging and performance profiling.
• Refine development processes, tools, and pipelines to improve efficiency and scalability.

What we're looking for

• Must have over 10 years of experience developing and launching high-fidelity games.
• Requires deep hands-on expertise in Unreal Engine 5 or Unity and C++.
• Must be skilled at profiling and debugging at the engine layer, including frame time and memory issues.
• Must have experience building modular frameworks for world partition, level streaming, asset virtualization, and shader compilation.
• Must possess expertise in game architecture, gameplay systems, content pipelines, rendering, and cross-platform development.
• Requires proficiency in optimizing CPU, GPU, and memory footprints for constrained environments.
• Must be familiar with contemporary web technologies like JavaScript and React, as well as cloud environments like AWS or GCP.
• Must have a proven ability to build, lead, and scale multidisciplinary engineering teams.
