What you'll do

  • Manage and grow a team of data and software engineers through hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of data transformation pipelines, services, and integrations for financial systems.
  • Design and implement scalable architectures for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and backend API services.
  • Participate in hands-on coding, including the development of pipelines, services, and code reviews.
  • Manage production support responsibilities, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and ensuring system reliability.
  • Establish high standards for engineering practices such as CI/CD, testing, documentation, and security.
  • Coordinate with product management and other engineering teams to manage project scope, risks, and timelines.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college or university.
  • 6+ years of software or data engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team as a manager, team lead, or senior individual contributor setting technical direction.
  • Advanced SQL and strong data modeling skills including dimensional/star schema, normalized, or Data Vault.
  • Proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, or C#/.NET.
  • Experience with distributed processing engines, cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks), and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).
  • Experience designing full applications including back-end services, APIs, and integrations using established design patterns.
  • Experience with production systems involving CI/CD in a major cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and incident response.
