TL;DR · Team Lead, Software Engineering, Full-Stack

Team Lead, Software Engineering - Full-Stack leads a team within the finance tech organization to build and maintain financial web applications. This role involves managing and growing a team of full-stack engineers while remaining hands-on in design, implementation, and code reviews. The position is responsible for the architecture of systems across the full stack, including micro-frontend designs, backend-for-frontend layers, REST APIs, and relational data layers. Key responsibilities include translating audit and regulatory requirements into testable work and ensuring production reliability through monitoring and incident response. Candidates must possess proficiency in React, Node.js, C#/.NET, and advanced SQL Server with T-SQL. The role addresses critical revenue operations where accuracy and traceability are essential for managing customer financial relationships, subscription changes, and billing issues within a framework governed by audit and SOX controls.

What you'll do

  • Manage and grow a team of full-stack engineers through hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of software projects from initial scope to final production deployment.
  • Design and implement full-stack architecture including micro-frontends, REST APIs, and relational databases.
  • Translate business requirements and regulatory constraints into well-scoped, testable engineering tasks.
  • Provide hands-on technical contributions through active participation in design and code reviews.
  • Manage production support operations including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and system reliability.
  • Enforce high standards for engineering practices such as CI/CD, testing, documentation, and security.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college or university.
  • 5+ years of experience building web applications and the services and databases behind them.
  • 3+ years of experience building large distributed, API-driven systems.
  • Demonstrated experience owning team delivery, including planning, prioritization, and coordination with product management and business stakeholders.
  • Hands-on proficiency in building production React applications, Node.js, and C# / .NET.
  • Advanced SQL Server and T-SQL skills, including stored procedure development and query performance tuning.
  • Experience managing production systems using version control and CI/CD in a major cloud environment (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Experience with agentic engineering and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software delivery.
  • Experience with micro-frontend architecture and independently deployable frontend applications (preferred).
  • Experience with payments, billing, subscription management systems, or applications subject to audit and SOX controls (preferred).
  • Familiarity with event-driven integration, caching, search tools, and various cloud services (preferred).
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tooling such as Datadog, Kibana, or Application Insights (preferred).
