Systems Engineering Integration and Test Lead, IBCS-M joins the Air Defense team to support the software-defined IBCS-M program. This role manages the end-to-end technical thread of integrating first-party and third-party systems onto a shared network and data fabric using SDKs, APIs, and secure connectivity. The lead is responsible for defining and executing test campaigns to validate operational requirements, maintaining technical baselines through configuration control and requirements traceability, and leading critical gate reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR. The position requires expertise in systems engineering, hardware/software integration, and risk management within defense or aerospace environments. Key skills include coordinating between software, test, and field teams while communicating technical status to government stakeholders. The role addresses the challenge of integrating complex autonomous sensors and effectors into a cohesive, high-performance air defense system.
Manage the physical and functional integration of first-party and third-party systems onto the IBCS-M network.
Drive SDK, API, and secure connectivity integration for all program assets to ensure reliable onboarding.
Define technical test approaches, pass/fail criteria, and procedures to validate system performance requirements.
Make engineering decisions on whether test results demonstrate sufficient readiness for field operations.
Maintain configuration control, requirements traceability, and risk management across the entire system lifecycle.
Lead technical content and outcomes for major milestones including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR reviews.
Serve as the primary technical bridge between software engineering, test teams, program management, and government stakeholders.
What we're looking for
Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, integration, and test for hardware/software systems in defense, national security, or aerospace.
Demonstrated experience leading system integration efforts across multiple engineering disciplines including hardware, software, and manufacturing.
Hands-on experience planning, executing, and documenting system-level test campaigns to validate operational requirements.
Experience managing requirements traceability, configuration management, and risk management for complex systems.
Proven ability to communicate technical status and decisions to both engineering teams and government stakeholders.
Ability to work across hardware, software, and test disciplines while translating between them.
Must be able to obtain a minimum Secret Clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, an engineering discipline, or related technical field (advanced degree preferred).
