Systems Engineer II, Product Development

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, and document innovative product and system solutions using hardware and software components.
• Define user needs, business requirements, use cases, and system architecture for new product development initiatives.
• Perform engineering analyses to optimize and select system-level concepts that meet technical requirements and vision.
• Plan and execute user evaluations in lab-based surgical environments to gather feedback on system concepts.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, product hazards, and failure modes throughout the product lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot system component integration and support the introduction of designs into surgical procedures.
• Provide technical leadership and clinical procedure expertise to internal and cross-business development teams.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline with 2 years of relevant experience.
• A Master's degree is accepted as an alternative to the Bachelor's plus experience requirement.
• Candidates must possess extensive experience within product development.
• Experience in the medical device industry and/or surgical techniques is preferred.
• Preferred experience includes systems engineering, including stakeholder needs definition, use case workflows, and requirements decomposition.
• Preferred experience includes planning and conducting user evaluations of product concepts and analyzing data.
• Preferred skills include hardware design, mechanical design, tolerance analysis, and computer-aided design (CAD).
