SysDev Engineer II

What you'll do

• Manage the full lifecycle of Linux client systems including provisioning, configuration, patching, and retirement.
• Implement security controls to ensure fleet compliance with NIST, FedRAMP, and ITAR requirements.
• Develop automation for imaging, software distribution, monitoring, and policy enforcement using tools like Ansible or Puppet.
• Maintain printers integrated with SAP-driven manufacturing processes on the production floor.
• Create metrics and dashboards to monitor fleet health, performance, and mean time to repair.
• Document standard operating procedures for hardware lifecycle management and software approvals.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term improvements for Linux system stability.

What we're looking for

• At least 2 years of professional software development experience is required.
• At least 1 year of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems for reliability and scaling.
• At least 3 years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering.
• Proficiency in Linux management (RHEL, Ubuntu) within enterprise or manufacturing environments is required.
• Proficiency in VMware within enterprise or manufacturing organizations is required.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals including networking, storage, and operating systems is required.
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Java, Agile/Scrum, or compliance frameworks (NIST, STIG, FedRAMP) is preferred.
• ITAR compliance.
