Systems Development Manager, Amazon Leo Productivity Infrastructure & Engineering

What you'll do

• Lead, hire, and develop a team of systems development engineers while managing their performance and career growth.
• Own the operational health, reliability, and security of the ALPINE Tier-1 service portfolio in commercial and GovCloud environments.
• Set the technical and operational strategy for the portfolio and steer architecture and roadmaps with senior engineers.
• Ensure all services uphold export-control compliance (ITAR/CUI) in partnership with security and compliance teams.
• Drive AI-integration readiness to enable AI agents to interact safely with ALPINE services.
• Manage operational excellence including OnCall leadership, incident response, runbooks, monitoring, and change management.
• Balance the maintenance of critical production services with platform modernization and automation initiatives.
• Represent the ALPINE team in cross-organizational forums and manage stakeholder relationships and escalations.

What we're looking for

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing system or software development teams.
• Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
• Experience with Linux/Unix, CI/CD pipelines, and designing or architecting new and existing systems.
• Experience managing a high velocity team.
• ITAR/CUI constraints.
