JOB TITLE: System Development Engineer, Amazon Leo The System Development Engineer joins the observability and Flight SW release team to support a suite of software applications and services for the Flight Computer on satellites. This role is critical to the operation of a Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation providing high-speed broadband network connectivity. Key responsibilities include building automation tooling for software releases, troubleshooting and fixing production software issues, and developing monitoring solutions. The engineer will perform software maintenance, configuration, and process streamlining to improve operational excellence. Required skills include systems development experience, infrastructure automation, and proficiency in modern languages such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust. The role specifically involves implementing fixes for internally developed code using Python and/or React to ensure mission-critical reliability and performance.

What you'll do

What we're looking for

  • Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or granted asylum.
  • 2+ years of systems development experience.
  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
  • 1+ years of systems development experience (preferred).
  • Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates.
