As a System Development Engineer, Amazon Leo Builder Product Services, you will join the Enterprise Technology team to provide essential tools and systems for designing, building, and operating organizational services. You will own and operate critical infrastructure including engineering applications, AWS Cloud Infrastructure, and local servers. Your daily responsibilities involve designing and maintaining infrastructure as code for hybrid-cloud Siemens engineering applications, monitoring system performance for scalability, and automating the deployment of engineering tools. You will also participate in Agile/Scrum processes to drive operational excellence. The role requires proficiency in Linux/Unix, CI/CD pipelines, and at least one modern programming language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust. This position focuses on managing high-availability systems under load within the context of a low Earth orbit satellite broadband network.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and maintain infrastructure as code for hybrid-cloud Siemens engineering applications.
  • Monitor system performance to ensure uptime, scalability, and reliability of applications and infrastructure.
  • Analyze current infrastructure capacity and forecast future needs to support organizational growth.
  • Provide day-to-day support for Siemens applications on both AWS and on-premise servers.
  • Automate the deployment and administration of Siemens engineering tools.
  • Define and apply standards for engineering, testing, and operational excellence best practices.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum processes including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure is required.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust is required.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems is required.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes is required.
  • Experience with distributed systems at scale is preferred.
