The System Product Test Engineer joins the Silicon Manufacturing and Package Engineering team to support the design, development, and manufacturing of Microsoft's computer chips, specifically the Azure Cobalt. This role involves developing system level test strategies, requirements, and methodologies across hardware and software. You will build and integrate hardware, firmware, and automation solutions for the system level test platform while performing product characterization for power and performance from system to ATE. Key responsibilities include defining software automation infrastructure, managing multiple development activities, and performing system level failure triage across silicon, hardware, and software. Required skills include proficiency in C#, Python, and C/C++, along with experience using debug tools like oscilloscopes, DMMs, and VNAs to optimize outgoing quality for high-performance compute products.
Develop system level test (SLT) strategies, requirements, tools, and methodologies across hardware and software.
Integrate hardware, firmware, content, and automation solutions for the SLT platform.
Perform product characterization and correlation for power and performance from system to ATE.
Analyze correlation, characterization, and performance data to optimize outgoing quality and power efficiency.
Develop software automation infrastructure for SLT and system-to-tester correlation activities.
Manage multiple development activities across a variety of product groups.
Perform system level failure triage and debug across silicon, hardware, and software.
What we're looking for
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of technical engineering experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
Must provide proof of citizenship, US residency, or other protected status for export control regulations.
Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of technical engineering experience (preferred).
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of technical engineering experience (preferred).
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of technical engineering experience (preferred).
3+ years of experience in developing integrated circuits, product and test engineering, or system level test (preferred).
