JOB TITLE: System Engineer SME
The System Engineer SME joins the IT Infrastructure and Operations team to provide senior-level administration and engineering support for Windows-based network systems. This role involves evaluating, designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Windows servers and enterprise applications, including Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Clustering, Exchange, and Skype for Business Server. Key responsibilities include designing server and application architectures, maintaining system security, and providing tier 3 support. The candidate will utilize technologies such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Azure Active Directory, Cisco networking, and fiber channel networks. Core competencies include managing Storage Area Networking environments, including NetApps and Pure Flashblade, and executing enterprise-level backup and restoration. The position requires providing technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced engineers while ensuring high availability and geographic redundancy for mission-critical systems.
Design, implement, and support Microsoft Windows based servers and enterprise applications including Active Directory and Group Policy.
Perform administrative operations and maintenance for server hardware, software, and fiber channel networks.
Manage server virtualization using VMware vSphere, VCF, and Hyper-V to provide high availability and geographic redundancy.
Maintain system security by monitoring logs, enforcing baseline configurations, and executing incident response procedures.
Provide Tier 3 systems support and troubleshoot complex system-related problems with minimal supervision.
Manage Storage Area Networking environments including NetApps, Pure Flashblade, and vSAN technologies.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of junior engineers and administrators.
Recommend future projects and technical directions to management based on technological developments.
What we're looking for
Must be a US Citizen.
Must currently possess or be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Must be 8570 / 8140 qualified.
Must have a BA/BS degree, though additional education, certifications, or work experience can be substituted.
Must have 10+ years of total related experience.
Must have 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and 2019.
Must have 4+ years of experience with VMware vSphere, Realize Suite, and VCF.
Must have 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Exchange Server 2016, SharePoint Server 2019, Skype for Business 2019, VMware Workspace ONE, and Cisco networking.
Must have experience with Active Directory, VMware, and Systems Design.
Must have experience with Storage Area Networking (SAN) and enterprise-level backup and restoration.
Must have experience with MS Exchange and Unified Communications applications (Lync/Skype/Teams).
Must have experience with Azure Active Directory and Hybrid Multi-Cloud (On-Prem, Azure, AWS).
Must have experience with AVI load balancers, NSX, and vSAN (highly encouraged).
