As a SysDev Engineer II, Leo Networking Software, you will join the Network Operations Center team to provide tier 1 support for software defined network services within a global satellite network. You will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting network incidents involving connectivity, performance degradation, and security concerns while managing severity tickets during on-call rotations. Your daily work involves monitoring infrastructure, supporting the deployment of new capabilities across geographic regions, and building tools to refine operational procedures. The role requires proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud networking concepts. You will utilize programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust, along with SQL and Bash for automation scripting. This position addresses the technical challenges of maintaining high-availability network performance for large-scale satellite communications ground systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security concerns.
Respond to and escalate network-related incidents in a timely manner.
Support the deployment and onboarding of network capabilities across various geographic regions.
Monitor and investigate network performance to ensure maximum efficiency and operational uptime.
Build and enhance tools and refine operational procedures to improve network operations.
Manage severity 2 and 3 tickets while participating in on-call rotations.
Perform monitoring, testing, and reporting of new infrastructure including satellites and gateway sites.
What we're looking for
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
Experience with network monitoring and automation scripting using SQL, Python, or Bash.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience with advanced networking and troubleshooting (preferred); 4+ years of telecommunications experience; 3+ years of satellite communications ground systems experience (preferred).
