Network Support Engineer, Leo Networking Software joins the Network Operations Center team to provide tier 1 support for software defined network services within a global satellite network. The role involves responding to and escalating network-related incidents, diagnosing connectivity problems, and managing severity two and three tickets during on-call rotations. Responsibilities include supporting the deployment of infrastructure like satellites and gateway sites, monitoring performance for operational uptime, and building tools or refining procedures to improve operations. Candidates must possess experience in troubleshooting technical systems, internet fundamentals, and cloud computing concepts. Required skills include scripting in modern languages and advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, and cURL. Preferred qualifications include experience with Batch, VB, PowerShell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby, PHP, SQL Server, MySQL, and satellite-based telecommunication networking.
Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security concerns.
Respond to and escalate network-related incidents in a timely manner.

Support the deployment, monitoring, testing, and reporting of new network infrastructure like satellites and gateway sites.

Manage severity 2 and 3 tickets while participating in on-call rotations.
Lead and mentor other Network Support Engineers on issue diagnosis and operating procedures.
What we're looking for
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
4+ years of software development experience or 4+ years of technical support experience.
Experience scripting in modern programming languages.
Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
Experience with network engineering for large-scale networks, including diagnosing network impacting issues.
Knowledge of internet fundamentals and cloud computing concepts.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent; or advanced experience with networking and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN).
Experience with specific programming languages, SQL databases, automation tools, customer interaction, or satellite-based telecommunication networking (preferred).
