The Support Engineer, Associate joins the Engineering Services Group to provide Tier 1 support for internally developed equipment across lab and production environments. This role involves hands-on hardware work, including installing, configuring, and maintaining test systems, platforms, and racks. Key responsibilities include executing RF cabling, connector installation, and signal path verification while troubleshooting hardware, software, and network layers. The candidate will use Linux command line tools, Python, and Bash for diagnostics and automation. Core duties involve managing test equipment inventory, performing calibrations, and maintaining documentation via ServiceNow and Confluence. The position solves technical problems related to system connectivity, network stability, and hardware lifecycle management. Success requires strong analytical skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to handle heavy equipment in lab and data center settings.
Install, configure, and maintain internally built test systems and platforms.
Execute RF cabling, connector installation, and signal path verification.
Diagnose system issues across hardware, software, and network layers using Linux command line tools.
Maintain and troubleshoot servers, network switches, and lab IT infrastructure.
Track and manage internal and external test equipment inventory and asset documentation.
Assist during equipment calibration events and site-wide maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and issue resolutions through ServiceNow tickets.
Create and update technical documentation and standard operating procedures on Confluence.
What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor's degree, or an Associate's degree with 1+ year of technical experience, or a High School Diploma with 2+ years of technical experience.
Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and work in lab and data center environments for extended periods.
Must be able to perform RF cabling, connector installation, and signal path verification.
Must be able to diagnose system issues using Linux command line tools.
Must be able to maintain records of work performed through ServiceNow workorders and tickets.
Experience with test equipment calibration processes (preferred).
Familiarity with automated test systems or lab environments (preferred).
Experience working with internal/custom-built hardware platforms (preferred).
Basic scripting experience in Python, Bash, or similar for troubleshooting/automation (preferred).
