The Support Engineer, Associate joins the Engineering Services Group to provide Tier 1 support and maintain internally developed equipment across lab and production environments. This role involves hands-on hardware work, including installing and configuring test systems, performing RF cabling, and executing signal path verifications. The individual will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues using Linux command line tools while maintaining servers, network switches, and lab IT systems. Key responsibilities include inventory management, equipment calibration, and documenting resolutions via ServiceNow and Confluence. Required skills include technical troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and hardware aptitude. Preferred qualifications include experience with automated test systems, custom-built hardware platforms, and basic scripting in Python or Bash. The role solves technical problems related to system connectivity, hardware reliability, and infrastructure stability.
Install, configure, and maintain internally built test systems and platforms.
Execute RF cabling, connector installation, and signal path verification.
Diagnose system issues using Linux command line tools across hardware, software, and network layers.
Maintain and troubleshoot servers, network switches, and lab IT systems.
Track and manage internal and external test equipment inventory and asset documentation.
Assist during equipment calibration events and site-wide maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and issue resolutions through ServiceNow tickets.
Create and update technical documentation and standard operating procedures on Confluence.
What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor's degree, or an Associate's degree with 1+ year of technical experience, or a High School Diploma with 2+ years of technical experience.
Must be able to install, configure, and maintain internally built test systems and platforms.
Must be able to execute RF cabling, connector installation, and signal path verification.
Must be able to diagnose system issues using Linux command line tools.
Must be able to maintain records of work performed through ServiceNow workorders and tickets.
Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and work in lab and data center environments.
Experience with test equipment calibration processes (preferred).
Familiarity with automated test systems, lab environments, or custom-built hardware platforms (preferred).
Basic scripting experience in Python, Bash, or similar (preferred).
