Supplier Engineer IV As a senior member of the Supplier Engineering & Quality organization, you will lead supplier quality, technical development, and operational excellence initiatives across the machining and contract manufacturing supply base. You will serve as the primary technical interface for suppliers, driving improvements in quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and risk management while ensuring supply chain readiness for semiconductor capital equipment. Your daily work involves leading problem-solving activities using 8D, DMAIC, and Root Cause Corrective Action methodologies to resolve complex issues. You will conduct technical audits, evaluate manufacturing processes like CNC machining and welding, and review engineering drawings with GD&T requirements. Key competencies include proficiency in PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, APQP, and PPAP. You will also mentor junior engineers and manage cross-functional projects to support new product introductions and ensure high-quality standards for advanced semiconductor manufacturing components.

What you'll do

  • Lead supplier quality improvement initiatives and develop performance plans for machining and contract manufacturing partners.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface to drive accountability and resolve complex issues with suppliers.
  • Resolve factory and customer-impacting issues using structured methodologies like 8D, DMAIC, and Root Cause Corrective Action.
  • Conduct technical audits and manufacturing process evaluations to identify risks and ensure compliance with company requirements.
  • Support new product introductions by assessing supplier readiness, qualification plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze performance metrics to create executive-level dashboards and reports regarding supplier risks and improvement plans.
  • Develop project plans for supplier capacity expansions, risk reduction, and operational excellence programs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on manufacturing and quality initiatives.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Supplier Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting machining, fabrication, precision manufacturing, or contract manufacturing suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, assemblies, welding, fabrication, and precision component manufacturing.
  • Ability to review engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and manufacturing process documentation.
  • Proven ability to lead supplier corrective actions, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders while managing schedules, risks, and deliverables.
  • Experience in semiconductor capital equipment, aerospace, or medical device industries (preferred); Six Sigma or PMP certifications (preferred).
