You will evaluate manufacturing capabilities, process controls, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and First Article Inspections to ensure readiness for new products. Key skills include expertise in CNC machining, welding, fabrication, and precision component manufacturing, alongside proficiency in GD&T requirements. The position requires experience with Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, and Quality Management Systems to solve technical challenges within the semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing domain. You will collaborate cross-functionally to mitigate risks and improve quality across the global supply chain.

What you'll do

  • Lead supplier quality improvement initiatives and develop performance plans for quality, delivery, capacity, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface for machining and contract manufacturing suppliers to drive accountability and performance.
  • Resolve complex technical issues using structured methodologies like 8D, DMAIC, and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Conduct supplier assessments, technical audits, and manufacturing process evaluations to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities, including PFMEAs, Control Plans, and quality systems, to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Support new product introductions by assessing supplier readiness, qualification plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze supplier performance metrics and create executive-level dashboards to communicate risks and improvement plans.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on supplier quality and manufacturing initiatives.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Supplier Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting machining, fabrication, precision manufacturing, or contract manufacturing suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, assemblies, welding, fabrication, and precision component manufacturing.
  • Ability to review engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and manufacturing process documentation.
  • Proven ability to lead supplier corrective actions, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders while managing project schedules, risks, and deliverables.
  • Experience in semiconductor capital equipment, aerospace, or medical device industries (preferred); Six Sigma or PMP certifications (preferred).
